Contractor for cutting hay on a small sloping field?

Post by TheField »

This may be wishful thinking but are there any contractors out there who will cut and remove hay on a small, sloping field? In South Hams in this case...

You're in luck, there is a contractor in the South Hams who specialises in helping meadow owners with smaller fields. I've taken this off the Moor Meadows website list of contractors:

Teignbridge and South Hams – mini bales
Specialising in cutting and baling smaller meadows. Adrian has a chain harrow, hay bob, compact tractor and mini round baler and can access smaller gateways.

Green haying service also available, including site preparation.

Many thanks for this posting. The very helpful Adrian has said he may be able to cut my small, sloping meadow near South Brent, however, he is super-busy in terms of being able to bale and take away the arisings. If there is anyone else who may be able to undertake the job - either entirely, or just the hay/silage-making part - please could they be in touch? Thank you 😊

PS: I have a survey of the meadow from June 2022 conducted by DWT's Lynne Kenderdine which Lynne has kindly said I may share, so seed content of the hay from my meadow may be gauged.
