Moor Meadows' Open Meadows programme 2024

Post by AlmaSwan »

Now that it is drier (if not warmer) it is time to start thinking about walking through flowery meadows amongst fluttering butterflies and buzzing bees . . .

And, with a wave of our magic wand, we can offer you a selection of over two dozen beautiful meadows to amble in as our Open Meadows programme 2024 is all set up and ready to go.

The first meadows open in three weeks’ time at two stunning sites. One (The Mill at Ideford) is a flood plain meadow covered in bright campion, ragged robin, cuckoo flower and buttercup. The other (Highclere at Manaton) is opening a little earlier than usual this year so that visitors can enjoy its Blue Period – an array of blues, purples and whites of orchids, bluebells, stitchwort, ramsons and much more.

They’re the first, but there are many more meadows to see after those ones. Plus we have some new meadows on the list this year – a big thank-you to those meadow-owners for joining the programme.

Start planning your spring and summer outings. The full schedule can be found at https://tinyurl.com/55cx5vdr and the meadows and their details are also on a map here: https://tinyurl.com/3brw52ne

Wishing you some contented hours in these lovely places.
