Learn about Dartmoor’s rare Fritillary butterflies
Tuesday 30th April 2024 at 10am-1pm

Brook Manor, Buckfastleigh TQ11 0HR

Moor Meadows and Butterfly Conservation have teamed up to provide a free training session on Pearl-bordered and Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary butterflies.

The workshop is being led by butterfly expert Jenny Plackett from Butterfly Conservation.

Learn everything you need to know to assist in the annual monitoring of these threatened butterflies, which will help ensure their survival. Butterfly surveys are an important way of measuring populations and tracking numbers over periods of time. We will spend the first part of the morning indoors looking at identification of the fritillary butterflies and the monitoring methodology. Then we’ll be heading out to practise our new skills.

Booking: the workshop is free of charge but places are limited.
Please book your place with Daniel Whitelegg: danielwhitelegg@ymail.com
