Hedge, Trees & Ponds: Creating Wildlife Corridors

Post by Ruth @Ditty »

The next Sustainable South Hams field trip takes places on Wednesday 2nd November 10.30am-2.30pm, near Tuckenhay. It's bookable here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/hedges-t ... 8094480847.
Mike Pearey of Hillside near Tuckenhay will take us on a tour of his organic farm to see a variety of hedges, some 2000 new trees as well as a simple but clever rainwater harvesting system which is creating a network of ponds on a landscape scale. This all helps to build connections and vital wildlife corridors for greater biodiversity and resilience to climate change. Experts Jaz Atkinson from DWT, and Jon Freeman from Saving Devon's Treescapes, will also be on hand to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for all things trees and hedges!
