Meadow and Grassland Management
Sunday 24th of July
Times 12 - 3 pm
National Trust Antony - Ferry Lane, Torpoint PL11 2QA
Join Dave Bouch, Head Gardener at National Trust Antony and Cotehele and his team for this free event. At Antony the team are trying to encourage our wildflower meadows and would like to share with you how they are attempting to accomplish such a task. As we all know it’s important to look after the wildflowers we’ve got and more importantly to encourage the establishment and diversity of flowers that are yet to come. Trying to do this in an ornamental garden, has provided them with many an obstacle which they have overcome through perseverance and with the help of some specialised equipment. So come and join them for a chat about their meadow management discussing the implementation of their mowing rotation scheme to their seed collecting and distribution strategies. They will also be demonstrating our hay bailer/rake and various mowers and flails and how they use them across the site as well as the opportunity to investigate how their robot mowers are getting on.
You will need a flyer to get into Antony free - to get yours email Alice.lewthwaite@cornwall.gov.uk
