Local Flora of Exmoor

Post by Amy »

If you are having trouble identifying what you have, the New Flora of Devon might be of use. It is highly recommended by some MM forum members.
It is written for professionals, and as a lay person, I find it an uninviting read, but grit your teeth and see how you get on; you might find your own area mentioned. It may provide an answer for that plant you have, that doesn't quite match the usual description, and if you are really super keen, it may make your walks more interesting by drawing attention to the plants around.
The pages for Exmoor are here:
https://devonassoc.org.uk/devon-flora/p103/ = 8 pages start with a history of the landscape, and then move on to the plants characteristic to this whole area, and to particular ones found in more local areas.
