Cutting and baling kit summary for small meadows

Post by Tracey Hamston »

Having asked many people, mostly across Dartmoor but some beyond, what kit they use for cutting, raking and baling in small pieces of meadow I compiled a list of kit plus some suppliers and links. It does seem there is a great need for kit sharing among localised landowners and we hope that this forum can be a conduit to finding a fellow small meadow maker in your locality.
I've attached the document. It's not exhaustive but hopefully it may provide some help for some of you.

Happy meadow making :)

Hereford meadow group made this video about hay making equipment for smaller land holdings.
The speaker certainly has some fine meadows with an amazing one full of green-winged orchids!
He covers the pro's and con's of various kit with some costs and things to consider before purchasing.
hope you all find it useful - I think you will
