Manage verges near you - verge information links

Post by Tracey Hamston »

Hi,
Following the online talks about managing verges we have some useful links from the speakers and other information. If you missed the talk, watch it here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2b4D5aTxnkU&t=221s

Devon County Council’s document downloads, including step-by-step guidance document https://www.devon.gov.uk/environment/wi ... r-wildlife

Mike.Waller@devon.gov.uk is now the DCC ecologist contact for verges and can help with enquiries. He can also direct you to local botanists who may be able to help with plant surveys.

The location of all of Devon’s special verges can be found at Devon County Council’s environmental viewer (https://maptest.devon.gov.uk/portaldvl/ ... 1f15970924), under the Ecology/Geology tab. Please email nature@devon.gov.uk if you would like to help manage a special verge or obtain more information (a survey card and management information is available for each).

The Plantlife guidelines and information mentioned can be found at https://plantlife.love-wildflowers.org. ... uidelines/. Main Plantlife Road Verge Website here https://plantlife.love-wildflowers.org. ... gecampaign. Wales Biodiversity Partnership Conference 2020 – session all about verge management: https://www.biodiversitywales.org.uk/Wa ... rence-2020.

Leo Gubert mentioned a good wildlflower ID guide here https://www.lincstrust.org.uk/sites/def ... de_nle.pdf.

Lots of info but all very useful
