Life on the Edge - a National Heritage Lottery Fund bid

Post by adamdavison »

The South Devon AONB is working with partners to submit a funding bid to secure large-scale habitat restoration and creation at six key biodiversity hotspots on the South Devon coastline. It will expand and enhance critical habitats to protect remnant populations of invertebrates and enable the recovery of nationally threatened species.

Practical habitat interventions coupled with landowner buy-in and conservation covenants will ensure our natural heritage is in better condition. Landscape-scale change will be achieved by linking hotspots, restoring high nature value coastal habitats and connecting the South Devon B-lines network. This will support the recovery of threatened species, and boost the abundance and diversity of wildlife.

Securing positive relationships with landowners and working with local people will create a ripple effect across the South Devon coastal landscape making it a national invertebrate conservation exemplar.
