Hi Jackie, I've had areas that look like that and have thought the same. I don't know if Yellow Rattle parasitizes betony as well as grasses; it also feeds off legumes like the trefoils. Have you looked at sedums on a roll from sedumsupply.co.uk? Or, wildflower turf? Nettles can dominate but are quite easy to remove by digging them up. It's much easier doing this in early spring when they are around 6" high, before the grass gets growing. I'm not sure reducing fertility will reduce dock load, I have docks in low nutrient pastures too, in areas of previous c...
