Found these earlier in one of the meadows………. seems too early for puffballs and the surface structure indicates otherwise……..Any ideas?

Hundreds of Meadow Browns gracing the meadows this year along with Ringlets,Common Blues and Large Skippers……but yet to see a Marbled White .Elsewhere on the farm topping has had to be curtailed as the Peacocks have taken over a nettle patch.

Hi Natasha You really need to reduce the fertility and the best way is to take a hay cut. Mid July is usually a good time as most of the seeds have set and the hay is palatable and easily saleable.You could do this yourself but it is much easier to sell the grass to a neighbouring farmer who will ha...
